S01E18 - A Forged Bond
Giyu and Shinobu arrive at Mt. Natagumo and split up. Tanjiro and Inosuke’s blades are unable to cut Father’s tough skin; he eventually flings Tanjiro away, leaving Inosuke alone, though he succeeds in cutting off a hand. Zenitsu, near death, is found by Shinobu. After landing in the forest, Tanjiro sees Rui torturing Daughter over “family matters”. He calls their familial bond fake, enraging Rui. Tanjiro battles him but is overwhelmed by his powerful threads and is forced on the defensive. Rui, angered by his refusal to back down, threatens to kill him slowly. Inosuke is soon overpowered by Father and is severely wounded, his swords breaking when he attempts to cut Father’s neck. He is slowly crushed but is saved when Giyu appears, easily killing Father. Tanjiro tries a frontal attack against Rui but his sword is sliced by an incoming thread.
